I've been receiving a bit of spam on my blog lately obviously none of it gets through, but its still annoying having to delete it all. So, I have decided to take measures against it by implementing a few changes on my blog. I have installed the Captcha! plugin which now requires users to manually enter the text they see in the picture before their comment is submitted. I have also activated the Askimet plugin which flags comments as spam based on the askimet database.

Whilst looking at the different ways to fight spam I found this article: The Solution to Blog Spamming, which I found very useful.

Due to the popularity of my first 2 plugin releases, WP Custom Title Colour and WP Digi Clock Plugin (0.1BETA), I have taken on board comments that users have left on the site to add many new features and can now announce the release dates for the first upgrades of both plugins:

WP Digi Clock (1.0) — 1.12.2007
WP Custom Colour Title (1.0) — 10.12.2007

I also have two other plugins under development to be released in January, so watch this space!!

I have given my tadpoles their first lesson in survival, they now know how to run away from danger! Previously they had two basic behaviours:

1. To face toward the direction in which they are moving.
2. To stay within the confines of the tank.

They now have a third behaviour which is to move away from the mouse when you move it over them. If they get stuck under the mouse they wriggle around until they can get free!

Introducing my new pet tadpoles! Over the coming weeks I intend to train them to do things...like make tea, or write PHP. They're not very evolved yet though, just swimming around blindly.

The Musicians Revenge event in aid of Oxfam took place last night and Comus Productions were there filming the action. The event was held at Cargo as part of Oxfam's Oxjam Music Festival. Here are a few images of the event being filmed. Video clips of the final production to be posted soon.
